Communication Matters
communication mattersImproving Management Effectiveness and Interdepartmental Collaboration
Leaders at all levels of the organization are often challenged in situations that require honest, direct communication with their boss, their peers or with the people they supervise. Successful leaders must be able to work with others to align priorities, resolve conflicts, maintain open channels of communication, and hold each other accountable for results.

Creating an interactive leadership forum
To be effective as leaders, we know we must continually improve our skill as communicators, but often find it challenging to take the time to learn and practice new tools and approaches. Over the years in working with a variety of organizational teams and groups, we have found that one of the most effective ways of developing the skills of managers and team leaders is by creating an interactive cross-departmental leadership forum for group learning, skill building and problem solving.

"As a result of our work with Robinson & Associates, we have seen an improvement in our communication and relationship with our customers and with each other. Months later we are still using the tools that they brought to our group."

Communication Matters
is an integrated series of interactive peer coaching and learning sessions that helps key leaders in the organization align priorities across departments, set group goals, share resources, practice new skills and receive peer support. Over six to nine months, the group spends one to two hours per month as part of a regular leadership team meeting or in a stand-alone session to focus on a topic relating to communication skills and practices. The sessions are designed to:
  • Help management maintain focus on interdepartmental service delivery and collaboration
  • Support management effectiveness through better communication and teamwork
  • Build trust and improve collaboration among departments
  • Improve overall employee morale and productivity
Our facilitator will work with your group to select the communication topics most relevant to your needs.
